About the Journal

IARTEM e-journal is an international, interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed, open access electronic journal published by the International Association for Research on Textbooks and Educational Media. It is designed to provide a scholarly forum for research on textbooks and educational media and resources. The journal publishes theoretical, methodological and empirical contributions within the fields of textbooks, educational media and resources, usage, analysis, impact studies, history, design, production and publishing and their role in teaching, learning and educational achievement at all educational levels from kindergarten to lifelong learning.

The journal publishes mainly in English, but accepts contributions in Portuguese and Spanish, with titles, abstracts and keywords in English.

The proceedings of the 2019 IARTEM conference in Odense have been published

In september 2019, the IARTEM conference was held in Odense Denmark by Laeremiddel.dk - The Danish National Centre of Excellence for Learning Resource at the UCL University College.

The theme of the conference was: "Researching Textbooks and Educational Media from multiple perspectives: Analysing the texts, studying their use, determining their impact".

This theme reminds us that textbooks and educational media can and should continue to be researched from different perspectives, with various aims, and with relevance to a range of actors. Thanks to the organizers, the proceedings have now been published.
